Scott Shannon, Ross Brittain, Claire Stevens, and ‘Professor’ Jonathan B. Bell will present ?The Morning Zoo 40th Anniversary Spectacular? just days before what will be “Z100 (https://z100.com/)” WHTZ Newark/New York’s birthday on August 2. Program Director/morning host Robbie Bridges notes that they’ll play bits from 1983 and have additional surprise guests.
Press Communications? WWZY/WBHX (107-1 The Boss) presents a special live broadcast event Friday July 28th from 7-9am with ?The Morning Zoo 40th Anniversary Spectacular? hosted by Scott Shannon with Ross Brittain, Claire Stevens and Professor Jonathan B. Bell. The crew famously came together as The Morning Zoo when Shannon launched Z100 (WHTZ) as a CHR 40 years ago this week. They?ll play some of the hits that took them from worst to first that summer of 1983, some classic Zoo songs, bits and even some surprise guests (Mr Leonard?). It?s all part of a special edition of ?Robby and Rochelle in the Morning? on 107-1 The Boss.
Ross Brittain adds ?Well! Now this?ll be FUN! Getting back together with the old crew and celebrating the good times we had!?
VP of Programming Robby Bridges notes ?The Morning Zoo Crew created the most influential morning show in America just up the road from our studios in Secaucus, NJ and first played many of the big hits for this market that are now the Classic Rock Hits we feature on The Boss. We are lucky enough to have Ross on our air team so to bring his Zoo crew on with us for this reunion, to return Scott to the NY/NJ airwaves live AND with Joe Nolan who worked with him at WPLJ is pretty special! Aircheck geeks prepare your cassette decks now, this will no doubt be a historic day in radio!?
