Long previously programmed “710 ESPN” KIRO Seattle for Bonneville from 2010-14 and rejoins the company after serving as PD of iHeartMedia’s News/Talk 600 KOGO (https://kogo.iheart.com) and “San Diego Sports 760 (https://sportssd.iheart.com)” KGB San Diego since then. Long has also worked in his native Kansas City, Palm Springs, Bakersfield, and Los Angeles.

Maurer has been with the station since 2012 previously serving as Editor, News Director, and since January 2022 as Assistant Program Director.
Long succeeds Sean Thompson has Program Director of KMVP-FM/KTAR. The other positions had been vacant since Ryan Hatch rose to SVP/Market Manager (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/215404/bonneville-phoenix-promotes-ryan-hatch-from-vp-programming-to-svp-market-manager/) in November 2021.

Bonneville Phoenix announced today that Brian Long has been named Director of Programming Operations for the cluster that includes Arizona Sports, KTAR News and ESPN 620.
Long, who programmed Bonneville’s 710 ESPN Seattle from 2010-2014, rejoins the company after a decade of programming news, talk and sports in San Diego.
“Getting the chance to return to Bonneville after such a great run in San Diego and being part of the evolution for such iconic brands as Arizona Sports and KTAR News is humbling,” said Long. “I look forward to getting to work alongside some of the best talent in the country.”

Long will also handle Program Director responsibilities for Arizona Sports and ESPN 620.
In conjunction with the announcement of Long, Bonneville Phoenix is also promoting APD/News Director Martha Maurer to Program Director of KTAR News.
