WOBM-FM will now be heard in Monmouth County with the addition of a simulcast on 1310 WADB/96.7 W244EE Asbury Park. WJLK adds the simulcast on 1160 WOBM/104.1 W281CK Lakewood Township to better cover northern Ocean County.
The Country format had launched on the AM/translator combos in February 2022 (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/219216/townsquare-launches-cat-country-jersey-shore/) to create a competitor to Press Communications’ ?Thunder 106 (https://thunder106.com)? 106.3 WKMK Eatontown/106.5 WTHJ Bass River Township. No staff losses took place with the change as morning hosts Joe Kelley and Jahna Michal remain based at “Cat Country 107.3 (https://catcountry1073.com)” WPUR Atlantic City and afternoon host ‘Chelsea Corrine’ Masterson continues as Digital Managing Editor for the cluster.
Townsquare Monmouth/Ocean had recently added ‘Sam Elliot’ Gagliardi as cluster Director of Content to succeed ‘Kyle Anthony’ Due. Gagliardi is best known for his long run in Minneapolis as President of Programming and Operations for Northern Lights Broadcasting/Go Media’s now-defunct Rhythmic CHR “Go 95.3” KZGO and Alternative “Go 96.3” KQGO as well as the multiple predecessor formats on 96.3 under Northern Lights and Radio One.
