Taylor told MySanAntonio.com (https://www.mysanantonio.com/entertainment/article/mike-taylor-youtube-18152435.php), “It’s something that I’m ready to challenge myself with. I just always felt like this was the way to go.” In the announcement online, Taylor added that the show will continue to air daily and he will also do his weekly “Pickles For Dinner” podcast with his girlfriend Nina Duran.
Taylor had been with KTKR since 2007 with stints in both mornings and afternoons. He was also syndicated to sister “1300 The Zone (https://am1300thezone.iheart.com)” KVET Austin multiple times during his run. Taylor began his career at “ESPN 103.3” KESN Allen/Dallas. He had been hosting his show remotely from Hawaii since 2020 (https://www.ksat.com/news/local/2022/03/15/san-antonio-radio-host-mike-taylor-becomes-advocate-for-transgender-families-after-leaving-texas-to-protect-young-son/) to protect his transgender son.
KTKR has currently expanded 5-7pm host Andy Everett to 2-7pm. KVET’s lineup now shows Fox Sports Radio programming in the afternoon.
