With the change, WLOU has completed its evolution from R&B Oldies to a more contemporary presentation with core artists now including Mary J. Blige, Usher, Rihanna, Babyface, Beyonc?, and Alicia Keys.
The move will also see the addition of Compass Media Networks’ DeDe In The Morning to the stations’ lineup starting Monday, May 22. Aircom Media VP/Programming Mark Gunn will move from mornings to afternoons.
WLOU dropped from a 3.5 share in the February 2023 Nielsen Audio ratings to a 2.3. It trails Alpha Media’s second ranked “Magic 101.3 (https://www.1013online.com)” WMJM’s 3.7 to 5.7 gain in that period, but remains ahead of SummitMedia’s “103.9 The Groove (https://www.1039thegroove.com)” WRKA’s 1.1 to 1.2.
