View Full Version : BIA Reveals List of Top Ten Station Groups By Revenue With iHeartMedia At The Top

iHeartMedia led with its 866 stations in 150 markets bringing in $2.3 billion. This rose from $2.2 billion in 2021, but down from its pre-pandemic $2.6 billion in 2019.
Audacy’s 231 stations in 47 markets brought in $1.345 billion. This is up from $1.35 billion in 2021, but down from nearly $1.6 billion in 2019.
Cumulus Media placed third with its 404 stations in 85 markets generating $493 million up from $481 million in 2021 and down from $531 million in 2019.
Hubbard Radio led by top billing station WTOP Washington DC was fourth with 54 station in ten markets generating $252.6 million up slightly from $252 million in 2021.
Beasley Media Group moves up to fifth with its 62 stations in 15 markets combining for $252.6 million up from $241.2 million in 2021.
Cox Media Group, Townsquare Media, Urban One, TelevisaUnivision, and Salem Media Group round out the top ten. BIA notes that Cox had the best year-over-year growth with a 14% gain in revenue from 2021 to 2022. TelevisaUnivision had the sharpest drop falling from fifth in 2021 to ninth in 2022 with revenue declining 16.6%. Bonneville International dropped out of the top ten falling to 12th place overall.
