Philpott quickly returns to Cumulus after departing his role as PD/afternoon host at Cumulus Media Soft AC “Love 105 (https://www.love105fm.com)” 105.1 WGVX Lakeville, 105.3 WLUP Cambridge, and 105.7 WWWM-FM Eden Prairie/Minneapolis in March (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/249559/jay-philpott-departs-love-105/).
Philpott has led “Love 105” since its return in November 2018 (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/171840/love-105-returns-to-the-twin-cities/). During a career dating back to the late 70’s, Philpott has also held roles in his hometown at 104.1 KFMX, 99.5 WLOL, 92.5 KQRS, and was APD/MD at “Rock 100.3” WRQC. He has also held programming roles across the country including stints as Operations Manager of Clear Channel Charleston SC, APD/afternoon host at “Rock 100.5” WNNX Atlanta, “100.7 The Bay” WZBA Baltimore, 92.5 KZPS Dallas, 102.9 WLZR Milwaukee, “FM 99” WNOR Norfolk, and 93.7 KSD-FM St. Louis and on-air roles at “106.5 The Arch” WARH St. Louis and WHQG, WQBW and WRIT Milwaukee.

Cumulus Media (NASDAQ: CMLS) announces that it has appointed Jay Philpott as Operations Manager for Cumulus Appleton-Oshkosh, WI. He will also serve as Program Director for Classic Hits station 103.9 WVBO-FM and will be heard on-air as WVBO Afternoon Host. His appointment is effective May 15, 2023.
Philpott rejoins Cumulus Media, where he was most recently Program Director and On-Air Host, Afternoons on Love 105/WGVX-FM in Minneapolis, MN, and was also heard on-air for sister station 92 KQRS-FM. Philpott was also part of the Classic Rock 24/7 format for Westwood One. Prior to that, Philpott was Afternoon Drive talent on Cumulus Atlanta?s Rock 100.5/WNNX-FM, and was Operations Manager for Cumulus Charleston, SC. He has held on-air positions for radio stations in markets including Milwaukee, WI, St. Louis, MO, Dallas, TX, Springfield, IL, Baltimore, MD, and Tacoma, WA.
