Rich has announced his retirement from the station he co-founded (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/179370/kflt-stunting-with-novelty-songs/) in 2019 marking the end of 50+ year career. His final show will be Friday, May 12.
Rich has a long radio history with stints on-air and in programming at WMYQ Miami, WAVZ New Haven, KHJ and KHTZ Los Angeles, WXLO New York, and WWSH Philadelphia. He is best known as one of the “Rich Brothers” through two tenures at “B100” KFMB-FM San Diego. Rich hosted mornings at AC “94.9 Mix-FM (http://www.mixfm.com/)” KMXZ Tucson from 1993 until the end of 2016, when he moved to afternoons until being let go in February 2017 over an on-air comment (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/116281/bobby-rich-let-go-from-94-9-mix-fm-tucson-over-unknown-comment/). That would lead to Rich teaming with Fletcher McCusker and Jim Arnold to acquire the former 830 KFLT and K269FV in 2019 for $650,000 (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/176409/tucson-radio-acquires-kflt-tucson/).
Rich’s morning co-host Hill Bailey exited KDRI at the end of April to relocate with her husband to Columbia SC.
