Mendez joined WMIA in January 2021 as afternoon host (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/203775/dj-laz-joins-totally-93-9-miami/) at then all-90s “Totally 93.9“. He moved to mornings in February 2022 when the station moved back to Hot AC (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/219739/wmia-drops-all-90s-launches-new-on-air-lineup-as-dj-laz-returns-to-mornings/). DJ Laz is best known for the 22 years he spent at Rhythmic CHR ?Power 96? WPOW from 1990 until 2012. After a brief stint at SBS? KXOL Los Angeles waiting out a noncompete, SBS launched ?DJ 106.7? Kimmy B, who joined Laz as co-host when he moved to mornings last February, continues in mornings solo. Kimmy previously spent seven years at Cox Media Group?s ?Hits 97.3? WFLC with time in mornings and afternoons including being part of DJ Laz?s morning show there from 2014-2016 until exiting in September 2021.
