MaxxKonnect Wireless has partnered with Vortex Communications’ CallMe to provide ultra-reliable high-quality audio connectivity over the public internet.*
MaxxKonnect Wireless (https://maxxkonnect.com/maxxkonnect-wireless/)‘ prioritized, high-speed LTE Internet service is designed specifically for broadcast applications, offering higher priority and higher QoS on the carrier networks so that users cut through the bandwidth congestion that happens at concerts, sporting events and large gatherings. Coupled with Vortex?s CallMe IP Audio Codec solution, reliable low-delay 20kHz audio connectivity is achieved at the touch-of-a-button.* Data is pooled for multiple users to avoid overage charges and multi-SIM solutions are also available offering reliable connections from remote mountain top sites to crowded downtown venues.
CallMe uses Opus audio encoding and offers balanced analogue stereo, AES67 Dante and USB audio for direct connection to USB mixers and headsets.* With SmartStreamhttps://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/14.0.0/72x72/2122.png a single CallMe-T codec can stream to multiple destinations including operating as two completely separate mono codecs in the one box streaming to different destinations, including using different audio encoding parameters.
MaxxKonnect Group President Josh Bohn states, “This is the magical combination that radio stations have been waiting for!* The CallMe platform, coupled with our prioritized MaxxKonnect Wireless service, is the perfect, low-cost, easy-to-use-and-setup solution for sporting events, live broadcasts and remote interviews.”
MaxxKonnect Wireless & Connectivity Sales Manager Chris Roth describes the potential usages, “My vision is to pair a CallMe T hardware codec with any basic USB mixer and an MK router.* The CallMe T has quick connect buttons on it.* Roll out to a high school football game with everything in a case.* Open the case, plug in power, wait for everything to boot.* Press a Connect button on the CallMe T and boom, you’re on the air.”
Roth continues to describe the product – “The CallMe diRECt system is the coolest thing for remote interviews.* It connects using OPUS, but records both host and guest independently at each end.* Then when the call is over, it downloads the remote guest recording to the host, so you’ve got full fidelity audio to produce your final product.* All the CallMe software products run in a browser so there’s nothing to download or install – ever.* So that makes it 100% platform agnostic.* Wanna use it on your phone?* Cool!* Wanna use it on your iPad or Android tablet?* Excellent!* Wanna do it on your ultra-locked-down-IT-doesn’t-allow-anything-to-work computer?* Perfect!”
“OH – and the other big thing – CallMe Click & Connect is directly compatible with most other manufacturers codecs.* So you can use it as a remote, on the go connection with other codecs or a SIP capable telephone system.”
The combined end-to-end solution will be working live at NAB in both the Vortex CallMe (C2226) and MaxxKonnect (W2849) Booths.
