Philpott has led the station since its return in November 2018 (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/171840/love-105-returns-to-the-twin-cities/). During a career dating back to the late 70’s, Philpott has also held roles in his hometown at 104.1 KFMX, 99.5 WLOL, 92.5 KQRS, and was APD/MD at “Rock 100.3” WRQC. He has also held programming roles across the country including stints as Operations Manager of Clear Channel Charleston SC, APD/afternoon host at “Rock 100.5” WNNX Atlanta, “100.7 The Bay” WZBA Baltimore, 92.5 KZPS Dallas, 102.9 WLZR Milwaukee, “FM 99” WNOR Norfolk, and 93.7 KSD-FM St. Louis and on-air roles at “106.5 The Arch” WARH St. Louis and WHQG, WQBW and WRIT Milwaukee.
In a Facebook post, Philpott wrote, “As departures go, this one was dignified. There weren’t tears or angry words and I wasn’t escorted out of the building. As a matter of fact there was actually laughter and understanding that this was only a business decision and wasn’t a statement on my performance.”
