Empire agreed to sell WRNR-FM (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/244973/peter-john-radio-fellowship-acquires-wrnr-fm/) last November for $1.54 million. The buyer, which now operates as Brighter Media Group, owns Christian AC ?95.1 Bright-FM (https://www.brightfm.com)? WRBS-FM Baltimore and Christian Preaching 1230 WRBS (https://wrbsam.com)/94.3 W232CL Baltimore. New WRHS call letters will take effect at closing.
At the time of the sale, Kingston, the longtime PD of stations including WBSB Baltimore and WHTZ and WXRK New York, indicated he was seeking to find a new home for the brand, but as of yet those have not come together. Empire retained the station IP, studio equipment, vehicles and a few leases in the sale.
