WGHN-FM and 93.1 WMPA Ferrysburg were forced off the tower owned by the City of Grand Haven in mid-November after breaching its contract with the city claiming that the station failed to comply with an agreement to locally originate 75% of the programming on the two stations, failed to pay a $18,008 lease fee invoked by that 75% origination clause, placing additional antennas/cameras on the tower without the city?s consent, selling WMPA without the city?s consent, and failing to pay its outstanding $84,538.59 in utilities. WMPA is in the process of being sold to West Central Michigan Media Ministries for $420,000 (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/221368/station-sales-week-of-3-18/). The station was being operated via LMA running the buyer?s Christian ?Strong Tower Radio (https://strongtowerradio.org)? network ahead of closing, which has now been requested to be extended by the FCC three times until it completes its move.
The two stations applied right after to relocate to a new site east of Grand Haven from a shared antenna with 6kW/51m (https://fccdata.org/?lang=en&appid=25076ff384355af001847ca0babd2735&fa cid=72105) and was granted an expedited CP from the FCC. WGHN-FM commenced operations from the new site on Monday.
WGHN-FM had continued its format in place of the Oldies format on sister 1370 WGHN/94.9 W235CM Grand Haven.

92.1 WGHN-FM is back at full power, following a tower move that began in early December 2022.
“We would like to thank our engineering group for their hard work as this was not an easy task, said WGHN General Manager Mike Toth. To make this move this quickly is amazing. We are so grateful to our loyal marketing partners and faithful listeners. Your support during this transition has been inspiring.’
Listeners can hear all their favorite programming throughout the Tri-Cities and up and down the Lakeshore, South to Holland and North of Whitehall. We’re first at 6am with Good Morning Grand Haven hosted by Mary Ellen Murphy, then the Noon news and Jesse Bruce with Lunchtime at the Laguna on into afternoon drive with John Roberts 3-6pm.
WGHN has proudly served Grand Haven, Spring Lake and the surrounding communities for 67 years.
