Fox admitted to using a three second clip of the EAS Attention Signal of 853 Hz and 960 Hz downloaded from a YouTube video. Fox acknowledged that in addition to its 18 owned television stations and 190 affiliates, the audio was also heard on Premiere Networks’ Fox Sports Radio network and its SiriusXM channel.
The FCC has overturned its selection of Centro Cristiano de Vida Eterna for MX Group 196 in the 2021 Non-Commercial Filing Window following a petition for reconsideration by Texas Public Radio. CCVDE’s application for 88.9 Shiner TX was mutually exclusive to their application for 88.9 Runge TX and TPR’s application for 88.9 Gonzales TX. In the petition, TPR alleged that Centro Cristiano failed to provide a proper site assurance exhibit by listing a tower owned by American Tower but a contact representative of Vertical Bridge and then failed to supply any confirming data to the FCC following a letter of intent leading the FCC’s dismissal of the application. The remaining two applications will now be judged on a point system analysis.
For the third time, the FCC is changing the selectee for MX Group 59B in South Georgia and North Florida. The FCC originally selected Inverse Focus Ministry’s application on a fair distribution analysis of the eight applications in the group. Inverse and CSN International subsequently requested dismissal of their applications, which led to the selection of Big Bend Heritage Music Association’s application for 89.9 Perry FL being choses as the tentative selectee in the group. Big Bend then filed an amendment revising its population data and certifying it was not eligible for a fair distribution preference. That led to Elijah Radio’s 89.7 Dasher GA becoming the next tentative selection. Following a petition from Georgia Public Telecommunications Commission that noted that the FCC utilized an incorrect fair distribution exhibit when analyzing Elijah’s application. Using the proper fair distribution preference to analyze the remaining applications the FCC eliminated all but two of the applications for not being eligible for the fair distribution preference leaving Elijah and GPTC’s 89.9 Pelham GA, which will not go to a point system analysis.
As part of an order granting 34 tentative selectees (https://docs.fcc.gov/public/attachments/FCC-23-5A1.pdf) for mutually exclusive signals, the FCC has chosen its first time share between three of the seven applicants in the Cedar Rapids IA area.
Friendship Baptist Church and Calvary Chapel Iowa’s applications for Class A’s on 89.9 Cedar Rapids and Extend the Dream Foundation’s application for a Class C3 on 89.9 Swisher IA will have 90 days to come up with a voluntary time-share agreement. The three groups all were able to claim points for being an established local applicant whereas Bible Broadcasting Network, Community Public Radio, Rising Tide Broadcasting, and Vida Ministry cannot. Two of the applicants will need to divest their LPFMs with Calvary Chapel Iowa owning 97.5 KEWR-LP Cedar Rapids and Extend the Dream Foundation owning 105.3 KICI-LP Iowa City.
Associated Students of St. Mary?s College’s 89.5 KSMC Moraga CA has agreed to a Consent Decree with a $500 fine for failing to timely file its license renewal application or maintain its online public file. KSMC’s license renewal application was due to be filed by August 1, 2021, but was not submitted until December 1, the day is license would have expired.
