Currently owned by Tron Dinh Do?s KLOK Media, who had acquired the station (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/110398/station-sales-week-of-120-power-on-the-move-in-phoenix/) in 2017 for $6 million, KLOK had been airing the South Asian “Mirchi (https://mirchi.in/us-east)” network since July 2021 (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/210375/mirchi-expands-to-the-bay-area/). KLOK operates with 50kW day and 9kW night. A Time Brokerage Agreement will take effect ahead of the sale.
Punjabi American Media owns six other stations in California including stations in Bakersfield, Fresno and Sacramento.
Punjabi American Media DBA Punjabi Radio USA, has purchased
KLOK-AM 1170 San Jose.
The purchase price for KLOK, which is powered at 50,000 watts by day & 9,000 watts at night (covering most of the bay area), is $2.85 million. Punjabi Radio USA looks forward to providing its cultural radio programming to the Bay Area, presently heard on its network of radio stations.
The addition of KLOK-AM brings the network’s AM radio station count to seven, as it also owns: KIID (Sacramento), KOBO (Yuba City), KWRU (Fresno), KLHC (Bakersfield), KCVR (Lodi) and KVIN (Ceres).
