Two Denver teachers are cited in a CBS special, “Teach,” hosted by Queen Latifah, honoring the innovative work of public school teachers nationally. The two-hour documentary chronicles a year in the life of four teachers. “Teach” will air Friday, Sept. 6, 7-9 p.m. locally on KCNC.
Matt Johnson (near left in photo), a fourth grade teacher at McGlone Elementary School (http://mcglone.dpsk12.org/) in Montbello and Lindsay Chinn (near right), a ninth grade algebra teacher at MLK Early College (http://www.dpsk12.org/schoollist/School.aspx?id=419) in Denver are two of the four teachers chronicled.
The goal of the film is “to shine a light on the individuals whose job it is to motivate and mentor our most important resource,” Queen Latifah said in a statement. The production from Academy Award winner Davis Guggenheim (“The First Year,” “Waiting for Superman,” “An Inconvenient Truth”) and Participant Media (“The Cove,” “Lincoln”), owner of recently launched Pivot, a network for millennials.
