Whitlock, who has worked in broadcasting since the 1960s, previously owned stations in Brownsville and Corpus Christi and has owned a marketing and PR company since 1999 and has hosted a statewide public affairs program since 2001.
In a deal originally announced last month (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/246177/station-sales-week-of-12-16/), Chuck Bergson’s Pacific Media Group will pay $330,000 to acquire AC “FM 97 (https://kauaifm97.com)” 96.9 KFMN Lihue from FM 97 Associates. KFMN, which Pacific Media Group began operating via TBA on December 1, joins a cluster that already includes Hot AC “Kong 93.5 (https://kongradio.com)” KQNG-FM Lihue, Hawaiian CHR “HI 95 (https://hi95kauai.com)” KSRF Poipu, Classic Rock “Shaka 103.1 (https://shaka103.com)” KSHK Hanamaulu, and Country 570 KUAI (https://kuaicountry.com) Eleele/104.5 K283CQ Lihue. Pacific Media Group owns sixteen other stations across Hawaii.
Two more deals from Rocking M Media’s bankruptcy auction (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/244492/four-operators-to-split-12-stations-auctioned-off-by-rocking-m-media/) have been filed with the FCC.
Chris Shank’s Ad Astra per Aspera Broadcasting will acquire three stations adding Rock “95.5 The Rock” KVOB Lindsborg/Salina for $112,000 and Classic Country “Kansas Country 96.7” KSOB Larned and KZRS simulcaster 1510 KNNS Larned for a combined $40,000. Ad Astra per Aspera owns six station in Central Kansas and has applied for new call letters for each of the stations to take effect on March 1. KVOB will become KLBG, KSOB will become KGBK, and KNNS will take on the KLQR call letters.
White Communications will pay $270,000 for Conservative Talk “107.9 The Patriot” KZRS Great Bend/Hays to add to its four stations in Concordia and Russell.
