Craig joined WSRV in 2012 as APD/MD and afternoon host before moving to mornings (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/107825/97-1-the-river-atlanta-swaps-am-pm-hosts/) in 2016. During his tenure with Cox he also programmed Alternative “X107.1” in 2014-15, and AAA “The Other Side of The River (https://www.971theriver.com/entertainment/the-other-side/)” WSRV-HD3.
Craig told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution (https://www.ajc.com/life/radiotvtalk-blog/morning-host-steve-craig-leaves-971the-river-after-10-years/HJVJ2N6DHZHITH2MZFUGQ4ANK4/), “I?ve had an incredibly successful decade at 97.1 The River working with a pro team delivering a #1 radio station. For now, I?m looking forward to more flight time and working with my board members at Angel Flight, along with attending long overdue vacation and family time.?
Craig previously served as APD and midday host at Alternative “99X (https://99xatl.com/)” WNNX for its entire original run from 1992 to 2008. He then spent four years at AAA 101.9 WRXP New York before returning to Atlanta for a year in mornings at AAA “92.9 Dave-FM” WZGC before joining WSRV. Craig began his career with stints in Barstow, Fresno, Salt Lake City, San Bernardino, and Los Angeles. He also served as PA announcer for the NHL’s defunct Atlanta Thrashers, ECHL’s Atlanta Gladiators and MLS’ Atlanta United FC.
