Hot AC 105.5 WINC-FM (http://winc.fm) Berryville/Winchester VA earlier this week, the station entered stunt mode earlier today.
WINC-FM has begun playing Christmas music, which will continue until Thursday, January 5 at 10:55am. The station is teasing that the station, which has been operated by Metro Radio Inc. from its studios outside Washington DC, will be “coming home (https://www.facebook.com/wincfm/posts/pfbid02JQH2TWQccPouzgk5WPsFiSamjKwkCwNe174nrLEXovx W8h3U3DvaMCXKKydKSEWbl)“. Ahead of the closing, afternoon host Alex departed the station, leaving it with no on-air talent. Morning host Katie Gorham had left in August for a non-radio industry position.
Jones, a local funeral home operator, acquired WINC-FM (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/243994/station-sales-week-of-10-14/) for $250,000. The station has undergone multiple downgrades in recent years as former owner Centennial Broadcasting sold its former 92.5 signal (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/199237/educational-media-foundation-acquires-winc-fm/) that covered much of Northern Virginia in 2020. After moving to a 105.5 and 104.9 simulcast, the combo were sold (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/207632/metro-radio-inc-acquires-winc-fm/) to Metro Radio in April 2021 for $225,000, which then divested (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/213507/station-sales-week-of-10-1/) the 104.9 signal covering Winchester and areas south to Point FM Ministries in October 2021 for $125,000. Centennial separately sold the land that housed the station’s studios and the tower of what is now Conservative Talk 1400 WZFC (https://talkwinchester.com) Winchester.
