Opie Joe has been with the cluster since 2011 most recently serving as Music Director and afternoon host at WCYQ. He fills the programming opening created by the departure of cluster Operations Manager Scott Gaines in August after nine months with the company. He previously hosted mornings at the station when it was known as “Q100.3” until its 2019 rebranding. Prior to joining WCYQ, Creason had stints at WAME and WFMX Statesville NC, WYYD Lynchburg VA, and WSLC-FM Roanoke VA.
SummitMedia LLC today named Opie Joe as the new Program Director for WCYQ and WNOX in Knoxville, Tenn. Opie will lead the imaging, content, promotions, and branding for the two stations, including streams, on-demand content, digital assets, and social media.
Opie has been in the Knoxville cluster for over a decade, serving as an on-air personality and music director for 100.3 The Wolf. His new role expands to include programming duties at Awesome 93.1.
