Dakich, a former basketball player and assistant coach for the University of Indiana, had worked at the station since 2009. He also spent ten years as head coach for Bowling Green University from 1997 to 2007 and later worked as an analyst for ESPN and Big Ten Network. He has also been hosting “Don’t @ Me” on Outkick.com since last year, which will continue.
No reasons were given for Dakich’s dismissal following his show today. In a brief email, Radio One Indianapolis Operations Manager David Wood told staffers (https://twitter.com/GreggDoyelStar/status/1600955215980761088/photo/1), “Today was Dan Dakich’s last day with Radio One. We wish him well in their future endeavors. The story also notes that at a station event in June, Dakich made multiple offensive comments that “mortifed his new bosses” at Radio One.
