Maxx will join anchor John Mercure, Sports Director Greg Matzek, and Traffic Reporter Debbie Lazaga on the 3-6pm daypart starting December 12. She joins WTMJ from Saga Classic Rock “Hometown Rock 96.5 (https://wklh.com)” WKLH where she had been co-hosting afternoons with Craig Carson since 2014. She previously hosted middays at Entercom Hot AC 99.1 WMYX Milwaukee and has worked at 95.1 WIIL-FM Kenosha and “103.1 The 80s Channel” WXXY Chicago. Maxx also hosts “The Arts Page” for Milwaukee PBS and has previously served as in-game host for MLB’s Milwaukee Brewers and indoor soccer Milwaukee Wave.
Newsradio 620 WTMJ announced today Milwaukee broadcast veteran, Sandy Maxx will co-anchor the station?s iconic afternoon show, Wisconsin?s Afternoon News. Maxx will join On-Air Host John Mercure, Sports Director Greg Matzek, and Traffic Reporter Debbie Lazaga weekday afternoons from 3 to 6 p.m. beginning on Monday, December 12th.

She continued, ?Her perspective is unique, her energy is infectious, and her love for Milwaukee is truly genuine. Speaking of joining the WTMJ team, Sandy said, “I’m truly thrilled to join John and the entire team as we collaborate and create the next chapters in the station?s evolution.? She continued, ?It is an honor to be chosen to bring my experience to better engage, entertain and serve our fans across multiple platforms.”
For the last eight years, fans heard Sandy on the air on 96.5 WKLH. Prior to that, she had radio experience at various stations including, 99.1 WMYX in Milwaukee, 95.1 WIIL-FM in Kenosha, The Eighties Channel in Chicago, as well as marketing experience at radio stations in Chicago and Atlanta. Sandy?s career goes beyond radio, serving as the in-game host for the Milwaukee Brewers (2003-07) and the Milwaukee Wave (2003-07, 2015-20), and as a P.A. Announcer for Marquette University women’s basketball and volleyball teams (2003-07, 2015-20). Since 2012, Sandy has hosted the Emmy-Award winning program The Arts Page on Milwaukee PBS. She has also emceed countless corporate and charitable events for organizations such as the Greater Milwaukee Foundation, Renaissance Theaterworks and Aurora Healthcare.
