The move brings the station back to the format where it had its biggest notoriety as “Party 92.7” KPTI from 2002 to 2004 and then “Energy 92.7” KNGY from later in 2004 until its sale to Stolz in 2009. A station press release describes the station as “Assembled within a top secret yet dark and dank bunker nine stories somewhere deep beneath Alcatraz Island, Pirate Radio has launched throughout San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area.” They state they are collaborating with several well-known broadcasting trend-setters in the New-EDM / Club Music industry.
