Johnson has led the company’s Wichita properties since January 2020 after joining the then-Scripps cluster in 2016 as General Sales Manager. He began his career in sales at KICT-FM in 1986 and worked for Great Empire Broadcasting until 2003. He has also served as General Manager for Steckline Communications in Wichita and held Sales Manager roles for the Wichita Eagle and KWCH-TV.

SummitMedia, LLC announced Todd Johnson to oversee the clusters in Richmond, Va. and Wichita, Kan.
Johnson has served as President of SummitMedia in Wichita since 2020 where he has consistently led his team of sales, marketing and programming experts to growth in ratings and revenue. Company leaders believe he can parlay his success there for the five stations and digital assets in Richmond.

Johnson began his career in broadcasting at KICT-95 in 1986 and worked for Great Empire Broadcasting until 2003. He was a Sales Manager for the Wichita Eagle, General Manager for KGSO and KQAM and Local Sales Manager at KWCH. Johnson returned to radio in 2016 when he was named GSM at Scripps in Wichita and GM by SummitMedia in 2020.

SummitMedia Richmond stations include K 95 (WKHK), 103.7 Your Variety (WURV), Classic Rock 96.5 (WKLR), Awesome 100.9 (WJSR) and ESPN Richmond (WURV HD2).
SummitMedia Wichita stations include Radio Lobo 106.5 (KYQQ), T95 (KICT), 101.3 KFDI, 104.5 The Fox (KFXJ) and Classic Country AM1070 (KFTI).
