WXBK is now operating with 40kW at 166m (https://fccdata.org/?lang=en&appid=25076ff3826574490182699c722200d7&fa cid=20886) from the Vertical Bridge owned tower in the swamps of the Meadowlands across from MetLife Field.
The move increases WXBK’s service area further east in Long Island and strengthens its signal in parts of the city itself. 94.7 had operated from its former site in West Orange since 1949. In order to complete the move of the station closer to Manhattan, Audacy contingently had to add a directional array to 94.7 WMAS-FM Enfield CT/Springfield MA to alleviate short-spacing concerns. Those same short-spacing issues prevent the station from moving all the way to the Empire State Building or elsewhere in Manhattan unlike 100.3 WHTZ which made the move from West Orange in 1983.
