The move recombines the two signals after they previously simulcast from January to June 2019 (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/177953/alt-breakup-to-lead-to-new-format-in-fort-wayne/) to shift the format from 99.5 to 102.3. The Alternative brand debuted on W255BY in September 2015 (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/94659/alt-99-5-debuts-in-fort-wayne/).
The change, which took place at noon today, marks the end of the CHR “The Twenty FM (https://www.thetwentyfm.com)” on W255BY. The format, which launched in June 2019 (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/178049/the-twenty-joins-chr-battle-in-fort-wayne/), will continue to be heard on 95.1 WAJI-HD3 and online.
WGBJ had a 0.9 share in the Spring 2022 Nielsen Audio ratings, falling from a 1.5 in Fall 2021. W255BY registered a 0.2 share, down from a 1.1, and well behind Adams Media Group’s “Hot 107.9 (https://hot1079fortwayne.com)” WJFX and its 2.9 share.
