“1140 The Bet (https://www.audacy.com/thebetlasvegas)” KXST North Las Vegas eliminated its afternoon show “The Playmakers” hosted by Lindsey Brown and Adrian Hernandez from 3-5pm. Brown tweeted (https://twitter.com/lindseybrown35/status/1559611609810477056), “Sadly I have been informed that yesterday was our final show. I am thankful for the people it brought into my life & the experiences we created I am incredibly proud of our work & the boundaries we are eager to push in sportz radio. Today is a tough day. Tomorrow is on the way.”
“1250 The Fan (https://www.audacy.com/1250amthefan)” WSSP Milwaukee has bowed out of a three-way local Sports race in the market that also includes Good Karma Brands’ “94.5 ESPN (https://www.audacy.com/1250amthefan)” WKTI and iHeartMedia’s “97.3 The Game (https://973thegame.iheart.com)” WRNW-FM and will now run the CBS Sports Radio network around the clock.
WSSP, which lost its 105.7 translator in October 2020 (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/199063/entercom-brings-hip-hop-hot-105-7-to-milwaukee/), had carried local Sports talk since 2005. Exiting with the nationwide layoffs (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/238057/round-of-audacy-layoffs-imminent/) are morning host Bart Winkler, midday hosts Gary Ellerson, LeRoy Butler, Steve ‘Sparky’ Fifer, and evening host Tim Allen.
Producer Evan Heffelfinger has also exited confirming the end of local programming on the station.
Some unfortunate news, today is my last day at @1250AMTheFan (https://twitter.com/1250AMTheFan?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) * well I guess it’s actually everyone’s. It’s been a dream come true to talk Wisconsin sports with you these last 5 years
I still have a drive and passion for the radio medium, my DMs are open for future opportunities
