This will mark Dunn’s third stint at the station. He previously co-hosted mornings from 1991 to 1994 before returning a year later for a twenty year stint that ended in 2015. In between he hosted mornings at AAA “93.7 The Coast” WKOC and on WVEC-TV. He has been working in real estate and running his own webcaster since then.
Dunn succeeds former OM/PD Eddie Haskell (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/234510/eddie-haskell-departs-max-media-norfolk/) in afternoons.
After a 7-year absence from terrestrial radio, (WGH-FM) 97.3 The Eagle is happy to announce the long-awaited return of local radio vet and former Eagle Morning’s co-host Jimmy Ray Dunn.
“We are excited to have Jimmy Ray back on The Eagle. His passion for this station and this community is unmatched!”, said Keith Barton President and Market Manager for Max Media Hampton Roads. Jimmy Ray who previously had a 20-year run with WGH-FM that ended in 2015, will be anchoring the stations afternoons from 3p-7p starting this Monday, August 1st. With a passion for local radio, community involvement and an affinity for local charities Jimmy Ray is a perfect fit for a brand that has already established itself as a community first station.
Jimmy Ray remarked, “97.3 The Eagle is in my DNA and it sure is good to be home!”.
