Gilbert had been with WOFX-FM since 2014 after previously hosting afternoons on iHeartMedia Rock 102.7 WEBN from 1987 until the end of 2012 after earlier stints as Production Director and hosting middays from 1974-78 and later weekends. Gilbert told WVXU’s John Kiesewetter (https://www.wvxu.org/media/2022-07-15/jay-gilbert-says-goodbye-to-radio-after-48-years), “Changes are coming, and I decided it was time to go. I’ve been doing this for a long time.” He stated that the decision to depart was a mutual decision.
