Nielsen begins its monthly release of PPM ratings with today’s Day 1 update including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston/Galveston, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Long Island, Riverside/San Bernardino, San Jose, and Middlesex/Somerset/Union.

It was a good day for Classic Rock as WDRV Chicago and WSRV Atlanta set record highs and WAXQ New York, KLOS Los Angeles, and WMGK Philadelphia saw significant gains.

Meruelo Media Classic Rock 95.5 KLOS jumps up 2.5 to 3.3. Taxi Productions Adult R&B 102.3 KJLH rises 2.2 to 2.7 with Ratings Expert Chris Huff noting is the highest share in the station’s history. Cumulus News/Talk 820 WBAP trends up 2.9 – 3.6 – 4.0. Also trending up are Salem Christian AC 94.9 KLTY (3.0 – 3.4 – 3.6), Audacy’s “Alt 103.7” KVIL (2.2 – 2.7 – 2.9), and Classical 101.1 WRR-FM (0.8 to 1.5).
Trending down are Cumulus Classic Country “99.5 The Wolf” KPLX (4.4 – 4.0 – 3.4), Audacy Variety Hits “100.3 Jack-FM” KJKK (4.1 – 3.8 – 2.9), and Service Broadcasting Hip Hop “K104” KKDA-FM (3.2 – 3.0 – 2.8)

Classic Rock “97.1 The River” WSRV expands its lead to three share points as it trends up 7.4 – 8.6 – 9.7. Huff notes that the gain sets a new all-time record high for the frequency, while the brand added an additional 1.2 share from its online stream.
Adult R&B “Kiss 104.1” WALR-FM places second with a 6.5 to 6.7 rise. AC “B95.5” WSB-FM rises 6.0 to 6.3. News/Talk 750 WSB/95.5 WSBB dips 6.0 to 5.7. Radio One Adult R&B “Majic 107.5/97.5” WAMJ/WUMJ places fifth down 6.1 to 5.5.
Both Top 40s in Atlanta see declines as Cumulus’ “Q99.7” WWWQ is off 5.8 to 5.1, and iHeartMedia’s “Power 96.1” WWPW-FM slides 5.4 to 3.7.
Radio One Hip Hop “Hot 97.5” WHTA rises 1.9 to 2.6. Radio Training Network Christian AC “The Joy FM” 93.3 WVFJ doubles up 1.2 to 2.4.
Trending down are Salem Christian AC “104.7 The Fish” WFSH (3.9 – 3.6 – 3.3), iHeartMedia Country “94.9 The Bull” WUBL (3.1 – 3.0 – 2.7), and Radio One Gospel “Praise 102.5” WPZE (3.5 – 3.0 – 2.4).
