Bumpus has served as a regular contributor to KIRO in addition to hosting Seattle Seahawks pregame, postgame and halftime shows at the station and serving as a television analyst for the Pac-12 Network. Bumpus previously was a Wide Receiver for Washington State University, the Seahawks and CFL’s BC Lions.
Rost has been co-hosting middays at the station since 2019 after joining the station as a writer and Seahakws reporter in 2017.
The next chapter of middays on Seattle Sports is here with “Bump and Stacy,” hosted by Michael Bumpus and Stacy Rost.
Bump and Stacy will air weekdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Seattle Sports Station 710 AM, SeattleSports.com and the Seattle Sports app, moving forward in the timeslot following the departure of previous co-host Jake Heaps from “Jake and Stacy.” The show will debut Monday, June 20.
Heaps announced Wednesday that he is pursuing a once in a lifetime opportunity to be the personal quarterback coach for Russell Wilson, the former Seahawks star who was acquired by the Denver Broncos this offseason.
Thursday was the final episode of Jake and Stacy, with Bumpus joining the show in the final hour to introduce Bump and Stacy.
Longtime Jake and Stacy producer Curtis Rogers will continue in his role as the invaluable third person on the daily broadcasts.
Bump and Stacy will be an energetic mix of entertainment and fun, a new and youthful take on sports talk in Seattle with everything a sports consumer needs to know, and beyond.
“We’re thrilled Michael Bumpus will be stepping in to join Stacy Rost as a full-time host from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each weekday,” said Kyle Brown, Program Director for Seattle Sports. “Bump has spent years preparing for this opportunity and I have no doubt he’s ready for this moment. Bump and Stacy will bring four hours of unending fun to Seattle Sports listeners daily.”
Michael Bumpus was a standout wide receiver at Washington State University before going on to a pro career with the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks and CFL’s BC Lions. Bumpus spent five years as the head football coach at Monroe High School, and he now serves as the host of the Seahawks pregame, postgame and halftime shows as well as a television analyst for the Pac-12 Network. He’s also been a regular contributor for Seattle Sports both on the airwaves and online.
