In an Instagram post, Wenzel noted he was informed of the decision as he was preparing to leave for vacation last Tuesday.
Wenzel joined WFMS in January 2020 after previously serving as midday host at iHeartMedia’s “96.3 Star Country” WMAD Madison WI and cluster Promotions Director from May-October of 2019. He previously was APD at La Crosse Media Group Hot AC “Magic 105” 104.9 WLXR-FM La Crosse WI and MD/afternoon host at Mid-West Family Broadcasting Country “KQ98” KQYB La Crosse.
Cumulus is already seeking a replacement for Wenzel with full details at their Jobs Portal (https://cumulusmedia.jobs.net/en-US/job/music-director-on-air-talent/J3V3YC731ZFTRWDS2MC).
