Both “El Zol 95 (https://www.lamusica.com/en/stations/wpyo)” WPYO and “El Zol 97 (https://www.lamusica.com/stations/wsun)” WSUN will launch on Monday, May 2 at 6:00am with Spanish Tropical formats matching the branding utilized by 106.7 WXDJ (https://www.lamusica.com/stations/wxdj) Fort Lauderdale/Miami. The stunt loops feature clips of the music the stations will be playing and teasers for the incoming on-air lineups
SBS agreed to acquire the former CHR “Power 95.3” WPYO and Alternative “97X” WSUN in February from Cox Media Group’s CXR Radio divestiture trust. WPYO dropped its CHR format at the end of March with it moving to a jockless presentation (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/222100/power-95-3-orlando-to-sign-off-thursday/) on 94.5 WCFB-HD2. Since then it has been simulcasting News/Talk 580 WDBO (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/224552/97x-sets-time-for-move-off-of-wsun/). WSUN’s Alternative format moved on Wednesday (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/224552/97x-sets-time-for-move-off-of-wsun/) to 94.9 WWRM-HD2, 101.5 WPOI-HD2, and NIA Broadcasting’s 97.5 W248CA St. Petersburg.
