Added ratings in the first post.

What I quickly see:

Talk KOA 850 AM takes top spot.

Country KYGO 98.5 FM jumps into the top 5.

Colorado Public Radio News/Talk KCFR 90.1 FM jumps into the top 10.

Rhythmic/CHR KPTT 95.7 FM continues to drop after being #1 last September, now out of the top 10 - while their competitor Rhythmic/CHR/Hip Hop KQKS 107.5 FM is now 2nd.

Thoughts?

KOA obviously benefiting from the Rockies good start this season. KYGO's new PD is off to a good start. Just like The Party, The Mountain also has taken a hit since it was at #1. Sometimes it seems like the radio stations numbers go up and down like the ping pong balls in the glass air-blown container used by the Colorado Lotto.

What bumps me this month is Comedy is beating the Wolf, not by much, just saying a translator is beating a full power signal.

KYGO is doing well, considering they have obliterated their air staff over the past year, I think now they have had 100% turn over in the past 2 years now that Garrett Doll has exited.

95.7 the Party just isn't KS1075. Its like country, when I want to listen to country I turn on KYGO, if they are playing Gary Allen (who I cannot stand), I flip over to the WOLF; same goes for the Party. KS is my first choice, 95.7 my second.

One of the problems with the Wolf is it's poor signal. I start to lose them on Sante Fe around downtown Littleton. I think they should switch to a classic country format. I remember with 104.3 was classic country. I recall hearing management pulled the plug because they were drawing too many listners away from KYGO. Why should the Wolf continue to compete head to head with KYGO when they are never going to get above a 2.5 in the ratings?

Joshua

Agreed, when the Wolf was Willie 92.5 they were doing better ratings wise then they are now, if I recollect correctly. The Wolf does have a descent signal into Ft. Collins and out on the un-inhabited eastern planes; but they have roughly only half of the horsepower of KYGO, not to mention KYGO is located on Squaw Mountain which is the highest full power broadcast facility in the hemisphere. I know folks in Goodland, Kansas that can occasionally pick up KYGO; and KYGO listeners in Cheyenne are also a frequent occurrence.

Here's KWOF's predicted coverage area... their transmitter is pretty far north. I wonder if they can get a CP to move it more south and onto Lookout Mountain? I know KKFN's transmitter was near where KWOF's is now, and was able to move years ago. So did KTCL...
Wilk's may not have the budget to do it though...
