From The Denver Post:

Starz desperately needs a hit in order to mimic the success of Showtime, which broke from the ranks of wannabe premium cable networks to actually rival HBO with original programming. So far, the “Spartacus” franchise has been only a genre hit; “Magic City” and “Boss” showed promise but never broke through beyond cult=level followings.
The Englewood-based network’s hopes rest on “DaVinci’s Demons,” premiering April 12.
The drumbeat of publicity and high expectations has already begun. “DaVinci’s Demons” (http://www.starz.com/originals/DaVincisDemons/About) from David S. Goyer (co-writer, The Dark Knight Rises trilogy) finds its familiar-looking iron throne in Italy: “In a world where thought and faith are controlled, Leonardo da Vinci (Tom Riley) fights to set knowledge free.” Having seen only the trailers, we’ll withhold judgement. But what do you make of actor Laura Pulver comparing her character, power player Clarice Orsini, to Hillary Clinton?
