From Radio Insight: After 34 years with iHeartMedia Classic Rock “Q95” WFBQ Indianapolis, traffic reporter and night host Don Stuck has tendered his resignation to focus on his growing acting career, band, and another radio position coming soon. Stuck shared, “To resign on your own terms in the radio world is a rare thing these days, and that’s exactly what I have done. After working for Q95 and the old X103 WRZX since 1990, I have tendered my resignation to iHeart Radio. It’s been a blast for the last 34 years but new opportunities including an unforeseen acting career, more gigs with The Don Stuck Band than I can handle, and some GREAT radio news coming soon pulled the trigger for me! I despise long posts but to avoid incorrect speculation, I wanted to put this out there that this was 100% my decision, as the new opportunities are just too compelling to ignore any longer. A more complete explanation, and more news on the next chapter of radio for me is forthcoming in a video. I couldn’t be more thrilled and honestly, more frightened! lol.” Stuck has been with WFBQ since 1990 and also was part of the morning show at Rock/Alternative “X103” WRZX from 1997 through 2011 both as part of teams and solo. He has also held multiple traffic reporter positions regionally including covering Chicago, Minneapolis, St Louis and Kansas City for iHeartMedia and airborne traffic reports for WMAQ-TV Chicago, was master control operator for the syndicated Bob & Tom Show, and hosts Sunday mornings on “Rock 95.5” WCHI-FM Chicago. After hosting multiple local music video shows, Stuck began acting in recent years appearing on multiple episodes of NBC’s Chicago Med and Chicago PD among other roles. more

Outside of an eight month stretch in 2014-15 as PD/morning host at Emmis CHR “B92.7” WFNB Terre Haute IN, Stadel had been with Saga Springfield since 2005. The move comes with the addition of a simulcast on 94.7 W234DR Beloit fed by WSJY-HD3 Fort Atkinson. The translator had been rebroadcasting the primary AC format of 107.3 WSJY. Before moving to engineering in 2000, Tarr worked on-air at many stations in Wisconsin and Illinois. I often catch myself streaming another Classic Country station in our Magnum group, so when Dave asked me if I?d dust off my headphones, I said, sign me up!? more

From Radio Insight: Newark Public Radio Jazz 88.3 WBGO Newark NJ/New York will syndicate its 12-4pm weekday show “Favorite Things with Pat Prescott” through its WBGO Studios arm. The show debuted Sunday on Clark Atlanta University’s 91.9 WCLK Atlanta in the 4-7pm timeslot. Prescott began hosting the WBGO show in March 2022. After five years as a school teacher, she began her radio career at WYLD and WNOE New Orleans, prior to first arriving in New York in 1978. During her time in the market she hosted middays at Jazz 106.7 WRVR from 1978 to 1981, R&B 107.5 WBLS from 1981 to 1988, and then mornings at Smooth Jazz ?CD 101.9? WQCD from 1988 to 2001. Prescott then joined “94.7 The Wave” KTWV Los Angeles, where she hosted mornings from 2001 until August 2022 with artists Dave Koz and Brian McKnight co-hosting during her tenure. Prescott commented, “In my nearly 50 years in radio, I have been blessed with many wonderful opportunities. First of all, I have survived all the radical changes in broadcasting during that period plus I’ve worked in three of the finest cities in America: New Orleans, New York and Los Angeles. Today I couldn’t be more excited about adding a fourth amazing location as I prepare to debut my new radio program on WCLK in Atlanta. It’s a city that means a lot to me because I have so many friends and family members there and because it’s one of the most exciting hubs in the country for media and entertainment. I’m proud that Favorite Things is joining the stellar lineup at this heritage radio station.? WBGO President/CEO Steve Williams said, “National distribution of Favorite Things is a continuation of WBGO?s strategy to share its successful content with stations across the country as we have for many years, via programs such as Jazz Set and Jazz Night in America. For the past two years, Favorite Things has been our most popular weekday program and now it?s time to give the rest of the world an opportunity to hear Pat Prescott?s innovative, engaging and informative approach to presenting jazz.? WCLK Program Director David Linton added, “When I approached Steve Williams about bringing Pat and her show to WCLK I was excited they agreed and saw the vision. “Favorite Things” is in line with the 50 year tradition of WCLK bringing quality jazz programming to Atlanta and now via our app & WCLK.com our global audience. Pat is a longtime friend and legendary broadcaster who I’ve known since her days at New York’s WBLS & CD 101. I was a fan before we became friends. I’ve seen her win in the two biggest radio markets New York & Los Angeles and I’m confident our audience in Atlanta will embrace her too as she mixes great music and storytelling for 3 hours of great radio.” Stations interested in carrying Favorite Things can contact Steve Williams at SWilliams@wbgo.org. more
